Alright, so I had this 1946 Model 9 sitting in the garage for the the last 30 or so years, in the harsh elements of +30 in the summer and -40 in the winter. It was one of those "meaning to get around to it" things. The 9 was crated inside another shell because we were told in the 70's nobody wanted those old oval things anymore, they had to be square. So we scrapped the fleet (yes "the fleet" as we once had Model 9's right across the country) and someone got the idea to take this one and have a square cabinet nailed on top of it with about 600 2 1/2 inch nails. (And a gallon of carpenter's glue at least, I can assure you!)

The first part of the project was to free it from it's casing. Having done that, I can see that it is not in the best shape in the world. I have quite a few spare parts for the 9 but as much as I would love to refurbish the inside, I really don't have the time. So I have decided
(and yes it was a very long and painful decision) to gut it and turn it into a cool retro look digital machine. I know you are all booing and hissing right now but part of the decision revolved around the fact that I do own a fully functioning 99.5% original 1955 Model 11. I also took into account that B/W chems & film will not be around forever but as a digital, this baby could sit in my workshop or recroom and can easily be updated for a couple more generations.

So in the end, if you need any model 9 parts, drop me a line, I may have what you are desperatly looking for!
